Yashwantrao Chavan Warana Mahavidyalaya (YCWM) was established in 1964 with a view providing higher education to rural youth for their total transformation. It was dream of founder president late Shri. Tatyasaheb Kore, to create “New Man” through higher education.

This college is named after our ex-deputy prime minister late Shri. Yashwantrao Chavan, who was an intimate friend of late Shri. Tatyasaheb Kore. Shri Chavan was a constant source of inspiration and guiding force behind the inception of our college.

This college is one of the reputed and well established institutes in the state of Maharashtra. It has proved it’s excellence in the field of higher education from XI th Standard to post graduate degree education. This institute, with its Arts, Science, Commerce and vocational education, is attracting the rural youth and guiding them to shape their future. The students in the college are not only from surrounding rural area but also from south west Maharashtra.

The college strives for multi-dimensional development of youth from the rural area and through sincere and meticulous efforts has been endeavoring to achieve the goal ‘To transform the rural youth through higher education and to create a New Man’ .
